About this app

This is a lightweight, ad-free tool for reading and studying the Bible – in several translations and languages, right in your browser and even offline. Optional AI study tools help you go deeper.

What it can do

  • Read the Bible in several translations and languages
  • Parallel view: compare two translations side by side
  • Search by word or reference (e.g. „John 3:16“)
  • Verse of the day and cross-references
  • Bookmarks, colour highlights and notes per verse
  • „Bible in a year“ reading plan with progress
  • Font size, light/dark mode, distraction-free focus mode
  • Print or save as PDF, read aloud (text-to-speech), share
  • Read offline: store a whole translation in your browser; installable as an app (PWA)
  • Account for syncing your personal data across devices

AI study tools (optional)

  • Verse interpretation in selectable modes – e.g. interpretation, context, application, plain language, themes or a short summary. The available modes can be extended by the operator.
  • AI topic search: describe what you are looking for in your own words; the AI suggests fitting passages. Every suggested reference is checked against the actual text, so no invented references appear.
  • Verse images: turn a verse into a nicely designed image (choose font and background) to save and share.

AI answers can contain errors and are no substitute for professional, theological or legal advice – they are meant as a prompt for thought, not as binding doctrine.

Account and credit

  • Create an account (registration with e-mail requires a one-time confirmation link).
  • „Stay signed in“, change your password, and delete your account yourself at any time.
  • Paid AI features are billed fairly from a prepaid credit via PayPal – you only pay for what you use, and you can see your usage and balance. Repeated, already-cached results are free.

How it works

At the top you choose book, chapter and translation; „Compare with“ shows a second translation next to it.

  • Tap a verse number to open actions: copy link, bookmark, cross-references, note, colour highlight and AI interpretation.
  • Icons at the top: bookmarks, reading plan, offline, verse image and account. Switch language at the top right.
  • Personal data (bookmarks, highlights, notes, plan) is stored in your browser. With an account it is merged across your devices.

Notes

  • Without an account your data stays only in this browser or on this device.
  • With an account data is merged (additive); deleting on one device is not automatically propagated to others.
  • Signing in sets a technically necessary cookie. There are no ads and no tracking.
  • Paid features are charged from your prepaid credit; this is not financial advice.
  • Unless stated otherwise, the Bible texts are in the public domain.
  • A secure connection (HTTPS) is recommended for sign-in and syncing.
